Opening a Business in the US and Getting a Green Card

Many Brazilians dream of opening a company in the US and getting a Green Card, which can be done by investing in EB-5 projects in the country.

The EB-5 Visa is a program created and optimized by the US Congress since the 1990s. Currently, business people such as yourself who want to obtain residency in the US through this system must:

• Investing in a for-profit US company
• The investment should be $ 500,000 to $ 1 million (depending on the region)
• Create at least 10 jobs for at least two years in the country

To obtain a EB-5 Visa, you must live and work in the US along with your spouse and your children if they are under the age of 21. The Green Card grants permanent residency status and some rights in the US, however, it does not give you the right to vote nor run for public office.
